Using Digital Cameras Classroom

photographic film, which I use for a 35 mm cannon (LX snappy)?
I take pictures of groups of 10 to 40 people (school) I was with 400 films that come out okay for small groups (3 to 8), but for most they're pretty dim unless they are taken out of the classroom during the sunlight, someone advised me to use 800 film and the photos turned out to be much worse than even in smaller groups. (flash fine). it's time to buy another film or digital camera? If so, which one of $ 150-250 budget for thank for your advice
The problem is the flash: It's too small to provide adequate illumination for large groups inside. Moving for film with higher speed boost its ability to collect light, but will result in more grain, especially if it is a little underexposed. Frankly, I doubt that a cheap digital point and shoot will do much better. Maybe for the upper end of its price range. The Fuji F30 has good high-ISO performance. Canon or Olympus at the upper be ok too. Digicams have noises in the higher ISO, which is worse than the grains in the film. Sure, you can convert your digital color to B & W and look better in the noise department. I think I'll continue using the Snappy, which is a cute camera with a lens all right for its price. If you have large groups, the plan-making out. Another thing I thought of …. You could have a couple of cheap slave flashes. They are just a small flash unit that fires when flash on board the camera fires. You can get them on eBay for a few dollars. You can configure a pair on each side of your group to help boost the light. You have to be careful af strange shadows when using more than one flash, but it might be worth trying. Another thing to consider, you can get a used film SLR with a lens of 24 mm fast, or maybe even a 50mm. The 50mm 1.8 lens is a big, strong and fast, and cheap! Angle not very wide, but can work. A lens fast is your friend! Check www, keh.com reliable used camera equipment. Good luck!
