Equipment for making videos?

I want to start making serious films, but less than $ 2,000 to spend on equipment. Does anyone has good recommendations on good laptops, camcorders, cameras for aspiring filmmakers? Tips and advice would be greatly appreciated

At this price you'd be better to rent gear, but I know you want to have because you can do a number films. With this sum of money if you will not be able to buy much. Get the key-Camera you can not pass a lot here, so try to get a system that will grow with you. I get a Canon HV20, or about $ 500 on ebay then examine some 35mm adapters, such as jag35 some cheap SLR, and rails and other accessories, all of which can be upgraded to better components when you money, if you can not get all the accessories 35mm now just get the HV20 and an extra battery for now. Mic-a crucial piece of gear-You Need a good sound. Try Videomic Rode or Sennheiser MKE 300 – both around $ 200. Laptop-99% of directors use Macs, but only one will eat all your MacPro 2000 $. I hope you have a decent PC is easily upgradable drag with RAM and hard drives, but if it is not simply buy the computer as powerful as you can for $ 500 – Do not worry monitors or speakers-just pure CPU power. Then follow the not the amount of RAM and get a quick 1-1.5T external hard drive, Western Digital is great for around $ 200. Then go to The Pirate Bay and get a copy of Adobe Premiere and After Effects, its the best alternative to Apple Final Cut Pro there once you have the money they get a Mac Pro FCP. Lighting-The HV20 is a decent camera, but only as good as the light you give, if you have enough money, trying to find a kit used Lowel on ebay, they range from $ 200 – $ 500. If you can not swing that, go to Home Depot and get 2 of platforms lighting industry's most powerful then have some old white bed linen and waxed paper for dissemination and rebound. As long as the money is the best you can do.

Sony Cybershot T70 vs Canon PowerShot SD1000?

I'm a teenager and I get a digital camera for Christmas and im wondering if the Sony Cybershot T70 or the Canon PowerShot SD1000 would be better. or if anyone has other recommendations ill take the rest. thanks. =)

For you, as a teenager, my recommendation is: Get a Sony Cybershot T70. Without going into detail for both cameras, I'm just going to point out features that will be useful you. Camera: Sony Cybershot T70 Effective Megapixels: 8.0 (which is more than enough for you) Lens: 3X optical zoom (internal, so the lens does protrude out, keeping the slim shape all the time, and is famous Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. LCD screen: 3.0 inches (type touchscreen) A piece of advice: Get a spare battery because they do not want to be caught with the "change battery" alarm among their offspring. Happy clicks.
