How can I convert my mini-DV to DVD for cheap?
Hello, I took a computer course in high school where we walk around with cameras and things film projects. I have tons of pictures of old friends on this Mini-DV tape that I bought to use their camcorders rental. The problem is that I do not have access to a Mini DV camcorder but more love in some sort of recovery data on the tape. Is there an affordable mini-DV players or somewhere I can send my band to have a DVD or CD is affordable? Thank you.
To do it yourself, you need a sort of mini-DV deck, a FireWire connection to your PC, and a program for video editing and DVD creation. Although there are mini-DV decks, they are quite rare they are a little more expensive than a camcorder. You can find a basis for miniDV camcorder Under $ 150 these days (there is a Samsung model on Amazon.com now under $ 130), probably less if you look close-out models or refurbished unit (the Consumer Electronics Show last week, where all new products were announced, so there are already models to be moved to "abandoned" retailers). Many PCs and laptops have built-in FireWire. If yours no, you can get a Firewire card for as little as $ 10 – $ 15, depending on the interface you are looking for (PCI or PCI Express on the desktop, PC-Card ExpressCard or on the laptop) .. Discover a place like Newegg for a wide variety of choices here. You can edit the video with your computer most likely, already. Windows and Mac OS come with basic video editors today, as long as you have enough current versions of the OS. The first versions of Windows XP does not ship with Windows Movie Maker, but it's a free download. There are a number of tools free that can create a DVD directly from an AVI video file or another computer. Check the website for http://www.videohelp.com Links to these things, tutorials, etc. It becomes more relevant if you want to add menus and other features, but if your main objective is to obtain video (directed or not) on a DVD, you can get there on the cheap. You can also find low-cost enough (generally less than $ 50) requests that you provide a basic all-in-one function, ranging from DV, capture, editing and DVD creation. If you have Vista Home Premium or Ultimate … my sympathies. But these also include Windows DVD Maker, which will create and burn DVD-Video for you. If your PC does not have a floppy DVD-R, it is obvious that you'll need one of them, too. Online retailers like Newegg, ECOST, and Amazon have much better deals on these a store like Staples or Best Buy. Of course, you can get videos converted for you by using a service bureau. For about $ 10, you send them a tape, they dump the tape to a DVD-Video and we will send you the tape and disk. Check a little below, or try Google. Or the yellow pages … Business local video camera or sometimes offer these services.
