If ever there was one designated as the year of the blockbuster, super-hyped, mega, big-time movie packed with effects amazing special and make a gazillion dollars by the end of his first day out, well, 2007 should be. With highly anticipated sequels as Spider-Man 3, Shrek 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and the latest Harry Potter movie (which could be a 3, but who knows) mixing with other great films of the time such as transformers, it's a safe bet to think that 2007 may go down as the most profitable year in the history of cinema. And, of course, those big profits are not exclusive to the big screen itself.
You can bet that when these films are distributed, and perhaps even before hand, that the cross-promotional marketing begin. There will be the theme song for each movie available for download to your iPod Nano. There will be video game Domestic ready to play on the Xbox 360. For those on the go, they will more than likely be able to play this game even video on their Sony PlayStation Portable. And for those who simply can not wait, they can download the trailer of the movie and watch it on the camcorder feature of their phone.
Even if all these films will be playing in theaters, people will just see the advertising and marketing for them wherever they go. And more interesting is that people will be exposed to marketing the film as well, regardless of what type of electronic device, they choose to use. If you're still connected to your iPod, you will not be immune from any movie marketing mayhem. If you visit your favorite store or refurbished electronics retailer looking for the hottest games for your Xbox 360, you'll see posters Promoting the official video game of the film throughout the store. And the same rings true for the PlayStation Portable from Sony also.
Today's technology are not only vehicles for entertainment, they also serve as potential places to reach targeted customers. The new Transformers video game for Xbox 360 will probably live scenes of the film interspersed in it, to encourage the player to see the film, if not already made. Conversely previews for the new Shrek film will probably be announced in the targeting of iPod Nano users to download the new hit theme song. And do not forget the constant barrage of commercials that ask people to text a phone number to get the latest Harry Potter Quiz sent to the functionality of the display of digital camera cell phones.
In today's world, He is being logged. Because if you are connected online with either iPod, Sony PSP or an Xbox 360 you are a member the target audience will be reached. However, being subjected to all these advertisements and media messages are one thing, but react very that is a topic best saved for another day.
