How do I import videos from a camcorder to tape my new MacBook?
I have a Sony model no. DCR-HC30 and I want import video that is on the tape to my new MacBook. There is no FireWire on the MacBook (which is what I have done previously on another computer). When I try to connect the camera via USB, it shows that in iMovie which is on the memory card, but I want to import Band. On the camera, there are the following ports: USB, DV, A / V, and something that says LANC. Suggestions?
You can not import the video tape MiniDV via USB – only the memory card for stills. You've found it. The MacBook has no FireWire port – and there is no expansion slot add one. You know. The DV port on the camcorder is a FireWire port. There is no USB-to-FireWire converter / adapter / hub / cable thing that will make this we want, so do not worry. The AV port is analog. You do not use this form to transfer video to your Mac. An external enclosure is necessary – but those who (Canopus work form) require a FireWire connection on the computer, So a non-starter for you. Generally, This is used to connect the camcorder to a TV and use the camcorder for playback or monitoring of the video captured by the camera on a monitor larger than the integrated LCD panel or viewfinder. LANC is used for a wired remote to start / stop recording, control of zoom and focus under certain conditions and take pictures. It is not used to transfer video. The suggestions that I can reach is to get a computer (preferably a Mac) with a firewire port – and his work is to import video to an external hard drive.
