Sony Camcorders Hard Drive

Sony DCR SR 35 HDD camcorder to Apple Mac?
Does anyone know if the two machines are compatible so that videos taken can be easily transferred to Apple Macbook Pro? Does the software must be upgraded, I need new drivers or are there too many questions to allow me to transfer? Help with simple tips please. Thank you.
The Sony DCR-SR35 is a hard disk drive (HDD) based camcorder. Once connected to your Mac using a USB cable, it should mount like any other external mass storage device. The problem is that camcorders HDD data files were very high video compresssed and must be converted before iMovieHD or FinalCut can do anything with them. Go to apple.com, click on "Downloads", search for "Streamclip. Return first result should be a link to download Streamclip … Download and install it. Copy the data files from video camcorder hard drive on your Mac. Launch Streamclip, import data files copied video and save (or export) to a file format your video editor likes … . mov,. dv,. mp4 … When the file conversion is complete, are at apple.com, consider going in the "Support" area, then go to the "Discussions" area, click the Editor you use, research using the model number of your camcorder and see what others have to say …
