Sony camcorder hook up to the issue of the computer?

I just received the Sony Handycam DCR-HC28 and I'm become so unless i videos recorded I can put them on my computer, it recognizes it and everything, but I can open it, and I can not put my video are recorded, and the guy at the store, the man who worked there, said he had one and he hung for editing all the time what's the deal?

One word: FireWire cable. (Ok that was two words) I have a Sony, it came with a USB cord, but it is for loading images, so yes, when you plug it recognizes the camera, but it will not upload video clips. Take your camera to an electronics store / computer and ask them for a FireWire cable for it. Happy Editing!
