Is it true that Sony actually sold and distributed camcorders that could see through clothes?
Is it true that in 1998, Sony has sold 700,000 camcorders that had x-ray capabilities to see through clothes in night vision mode? why didn't they know? or do they lol? thank you
see through clothing is a real extent. all CCD imagers has a vision in the infrared band, where normal human vision does not work. to prevent odd looking images, most cameras add a filter to block IR. Night Vision Cameras have no filter, and employ transmitter IR LED (like on your TV remote) to provide lighting. So unless your garment is somehow transparent to IR, (not too likely), then he does not see through them but as the light reflects off the normal fact. This situation is further confused with cameras type that can detect infrared heat emitted by an object. Since the body releases heat, which passes through clothing, so we can call this kind effect of x-ray. what you see is a warm glow, like Off a candle, not the outline of a naked person!
