Do all Sandisk SDHC have the serial number printed on the back?
I just bought a Sandisk Extreme III SDHC Class 6 card and it does not work with my new HD camcorder from Canon and it is extremely slow on the computer. I noticed that there is no serial number printed on the back of the card at all. Is this a sufficient reason to suspect this map to be a fake?? Do they all have serial printed on the back?? Thank you.
Hi, I had a similar problem with so-called "SanDisk Extreme IV 8GB" maps FC. AM using digital SLR, if proven shooting continuous images and count the time needed for the buffer must be written to the card. Results: – Known genuine Sandisk Extreme IV cards Ducati – c18 seconds. Called "Extreme III" – closer to 43 seconds. Called support SanDisk – all their cards have a number unique serial on the edge of the CF and back to SD / SDHC – sometimes quite feint though. If you have a PCMCIA card reader (no port USB – it wont work) you can see the manufacturers name / code if you right click on "safely remove storage" icon. My CF cards to 8GB real say "SanDisk SDCFX4-8192" My counterfeits showed "TPX-CFT-8GB" if it is a card of 8 GB, but not a Sandisk! FYI, I also difficulties with the authentic Sandisk 2GB card on a Canon 5D MkII, which will not read / write. They are not listed as compatible on the SanDisk website – so there's always worth checking before buying. I posted the link below. Hope this helps Charles
