Prosumer Camcorders Under 1000
Looking for an HD camcorder with an XLR port for less than $ 1000? Does it exist or should I go prosumer?
I am a recent graduate a program of film production and am looking to buy a video camera under $ 1,000 to put together some basic Latest News for a non-for-profit organization. The video quality should not be terrible, I do not need a ton of manual options. But I want to be able to record a microphone that is not built into the camera for recording interviews clear, so I'd like a camera with an XLR port. I also prefer a device with an internal drive rather than tape. Can you help me recommend a camera? Thank you for your time, Daniel
Unless you buy used – or use an XLR adapter like those juicedLink or BeachTek, no camcorder at about $ 1800 with top-XLR audio connectors. The DVX100, Panasonic XLR audio, but is standard definition only. The Sony HVR-A1U has XLR audio-in, and then a Part of the series Sony HVR professional's single chip CMOS imaging and small lens does not have much flexibility to the lighting conditions. It is the brother of pro HDR-HC1 consumption of approximately 3 years. However, for less than $ 1000, new … HV20/HV30/HV40 the Canon and the Sony HDR-HC9 camcorder are less expensive with a MIC jack (1 / 8 "- 3.5 mm) and manual audio controls. Use XLR adapters mentioned above provide the connectivity you XLR microphone need. The hard drive based consumer camcorders in the same range using a version anemic AVCHD (MTS) and the compression is not recommended – And they do not have manual audio control. As a recent graduate of a program of film, you probably also know that miniDV tape Capture HDV provides the highest quality video available due to less compression applied (relative to the registration of other consumers media and their associated file formats). To get HDV stored on a hard drive is usually through an external hard drive (as Focus Enhancements' FireStore series) connected to a camcorder with FireWire – usually a miniDV tape based camcorder. In prosumer "Environment high definition, this means that (at least by my definition), the Sony HDR-FX1, HDR-FX1000 HDR-FX7. All are 1 / 8 "(3.5mm) stereo audio-in … which means an XLR adapter. There is no disk drive prosumer. XLR appears first in the software previously cited Sony HVR-A1U. The HVR-Z1U, Z5U, Z7U and V1U circle line Pro HDV Sony. Then there is the Canon XHA1 and XLH Series Series Panasonic HVX200 and JVC GY Pro Series. There non-tape. The single cam drive, Sony are the form (external hard drives that connect to the FireWire port on the miniDV amcroder and recordings of external hard drives HDV – FireStore as units). There are some new Panny in their series that AVCam use a higher compression 24Mbps AVCHD consumer use anemic camcorders – I have not seen the pros use.
