Please throw all the answers to me, all are welcome. Thank you.
It's a good question … and it's a tough decision, so I'll explain the benefits and disadvantages of each. Of course, one of the biggest factors in any decision is price, and consumer HD camcorders would be much much cheaper. Meanwhile, HD camcorders will have more pixels, which means a higher resolution than prosumer SD camcorder. The HV30, especially you give a very clear image in a higher resolution than the DVX100B. However, HD or not, prosumer camcorder offers many features that one consumer camcorder will not. Firstly, as you mentioned, 3 prosumer cameras have image sensors (the DVX100B has 3 sensors CCD) versus single-chip camcorders for consumers. 3 chip camcorders offer increased sensitivity, which means better color reproduction. A Another characteristic of a prosumer camcorder manual controls. Many people forget the importance of good manual controls, but they differ filmmakers from videographer simple family vacation. The manual controls allow you to completely manipulate your image, and personally, I hate the controls manual on the HV20 (similar to the HV30). I tend to leave it in automatic, because it is a pain to adjust manually. Normally, this would be a key decision, but it is difficult to say, as the HV20 and HV30 are good in automatic mode. It has the fastest and autofocus more accurate than I have never seen. Yet, for artistic reasons, I prefer manual controls. In addition, the DVX100B offers dual XLR audio inputs, while The HV30 has one minijack simple. The XLR inputs for microphones allow much better to be connected for clarity. It may not seem that important, but the audio quality is almost more important than image quality. However, you can upgrade your mini jack to XLR with XLR adapter like those made by BeachTek. Some are decent mics minijack though. I love my RODE VideoMic. In a brief summary, the following advantages and disadvantages of each: ________________ consumer HD: PROS: Less expensive, more pixels = higher resolution, easy to use, small and compact CONS: low manual controls, lower quality audio connections (if any), HD = takes more space on computer, and more difficult to change, 1 image sensor ________________ Prosumer SD PROS: 3 image sensors = better color reproduction, manual controls, the audio connections pro CONS: lower resolution, large and bulky, more expensive, more complicated I know it's a difficult decision, but whatever your decision, I am sure you are satisfied …. They are Both devices are excellent. Well, I hope that helped a little, and good luck
