Buying camcorder from USA online store for use in Singapore?

Anyone with experience of buying camcorder of U.S. online store for use in Singapore? I think to get the Canon HF100 from BestBuy (due to lower prices) but I am concerned the ease of use and security. NTSC-PAL Interoperability is good for me.

Since its large cash expenditures, that happened if the camcorder does not work and you prefer a replacement. Shipping and return at your cost would negate any savings in cash. Getting camcorder is not a good idea these days, many digital cameras are capable of recording movies and a lot of time to take still images more sense and is more convenient.
