Film Vs Digital SLR Camera shutter response?
I'm frustrated by the lag when I press the shutter button on my digital camera when you lose a second sometimes (light, focus, etc.). I had a film SLR from Nikon in the past, and shutter response was almost instantaneous. As the new SLR digital follow on the shutter, compared to film cameras?

Since you already have a Nikon … you may want to look at a D50 the second hand market – the new D40 and D40 can not allow your lens to autofocus on, because they have built in motor drive for some lenses. Or better yet, you can accelerate for a D80 – it's just a sweet thing.
