Movie Making Camcorders

Looking for a good camcorder for an amateur film that I do. Help?

I look for something with good visual quality, good audio quality, the Memory decent, and decent battery life. Hope to get something on Newegg for about $ 500 or less, but I have no idea what to look for now. Can anyone tell me a decent camera to consider or tell me what to look in a camcorder?
