How do I connect my JVC GR-DA30US MiniDV camcorder to my computer?
I have a Mini DV Camcorder JVC GR-DA30US I received for Christmas a few years ago. I made some videos that I put on my computer (Windows Vista received for my birthday this year) but I can not connect to the device. I tried everything, but I still can not figure out. What should I do? Do I need a additional accessory or something?
The GRDA30US JVC is a standard definition, tape based MiniDV, camcorder. ALL MiniDV camcorders Basic transfer video to DV format by connecting the camcorder's DV port to the FireWire port on your computer. IEEE1394 FireWire, i.LINK and DV are all the same. The DV port on ALL miniDV tape based camcorders is always 4-pin. If your computer has a FireWire port most likely is a 6-pin FireWire port. It is also possible as a 4-pin … We do not know if you need a 4 pin to 6 pin FireWire cable or a 4 pin to 4 pin firewire cable. It is also – though unlikely – that your computer has a 9-pin FireWire 800. Once connected with the firewire cable (Port DV camcorder to the FireWire port on the computer) and the camcorder in "Play" or "VCR" mode, launch MovieMaker, the project name, select the destination file on the hard disk, choose whether you saved in DV or DV wide screen, click Create or OK … Click rewind if necessary – then click Import or "Capture". If MovieMaker can not import, I seen WinDV work …
