Imovie Compatible Camcorders

What mini-DV camcorders use?

I already have a Panasonic mini DV camcorder, but it is getting old and the quality is not great. Looking to buy a new camera to replace it. It must be compatible with HD and iMovie '08 and Final Cut Express or Pro? What would be a good choice? I want to keep the price under $ 200.

Under $ 200? This will be a challenge. In this range, the only ones I can go with the Canon ZR800 and ZR900. All miniDV tape based camcorder will work perfectly with iMovieHD and FinalCut As you can import the video when the camcorder is in playback mode and connected to your Mac with a 4 pin to 6 pin Firewire (IEEE 1394) cable. The ZR800 and ZR900 each have a microphone jack – but did not manual audio control.
