Where in the UK can I take home and try out the cameras before I commit myself to buy them?

I have a shot in some an area that I wan't to use cameras to test.

I would go to a small retailer rather than a large chain. Be prepared leave your card number or a hefty deposit. There are many bad people about. Retailers also have to watch for people who want to borrow a camera to try to use it then to save the marriage of their daughter, return and say they do not.
