SLR is worth the extra cost of a digital camera?
Having problems with my old digital camera and I will be replacing. I would like to upgrade … I I am not a professional, but I'd like to get a better picture quailty as I will be traveling a lot in the next 2 years … what do you think? Should I invest the dollars extra? Furthermore, the lower extremities are well .. I really do not want to invest in a 1k camera. And that if I SLR …? In your case, absolutely not. For the money you'd be much better with a high end point and shoot as a G series from Canon. These cameras have near SLR functionality and image quality is great. The reason I'm saying is that the 18-55mm lens is a kit. It was designed specifically to be played with a camera at a reduced cost for Canon. The build quality is cheap, the optical quality is poor, and that really ends up being a 29 millimeters, 88 millimeters due to crop factor, which is not particularly impressive in comparison with a high end point and shoot. If you want to buy an SLR be prepared to spend several thousand dollars in good quality zoom lenses in focal lengths you intend to use, or purchase fixed focal length (zoom lens) duration that it will run you hundreds of dollars each.
