Digital Cameras Video

Why are digital video cameras have great zoom, but no photo cameras?
I often wonder why a digital / Hard Drive / Flash Drive / etc. video camera can even sport a 50x optical zoom, while the largest zoom digital camera I've seen (excluding humongous, extremely expensive SLR zoom lenses) is a 20x Olympus. It is very hard to get a high quality 50x zoom in a camera, or what?
There is nothing to guess. There are two reasons for this. First, the size of the sensor. Because most video cameras, regardless of type, does not capture video at 6, 8 10 megapixels or how a camera will still, the sensor can be smaller. When the sensor gets smaller, is easier to get that extra zoom because of a crop factor. Then would be size. Along with a tiny sensor, video cameras are generally larger than digital point and shoot. With this size and deeper, there are three space for greater lens. There is nothing stopping you from getting 50x digital from a point and shoot. But the size of the sensor may have to fall, and it could be a resolution lower, in 2 or 4 megapixels, for example. Then you have a huge lens to deal with them. As you increase the size of the sensor, as he says in a digital SLR, not no way around the fact that you need a huge lens just to match the range of a decent compact digital zoom. So the bottom line, is a law of physics that prevent you from getting a monster zoom in a small camera, not because the camera companies do not want to do it.
