The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 has just been announced and will be available in April and an MSRP of $ 399.95. Canon launches the EOS D10 for $ 329.99 in May. These two cameras are considered to be waterproof up 33 meters. Touch screen of each camera though. I was also looking for a camera that I can use snorkel. I was considering the Olympus 1030SW, but after reading forums, it seems that Olympus cameras waterproof tends to leak. It remains to be seen whether the new Panasonic or Canon is better built, but both are excellent cameras. I am inclined to get a Canon G10 and then if I want to take it under water, buy a waterproof housing for it. Many manufacturers as boxes available for both the specific camera. For less than $ 400 you can get the new Sony DSC-T90 3.5 "touch screen camera for 299.99 dollars and add an Aqua Kit that is waterproof to 5 feet (ok for snorkeling) for only $ 69.99. Sony Marine offers packages that are waterproof to 132 feet, but they cost $ 229.99.
