Question about digital cameras at reasonable prices in good quality?

I never had a reason to buy a camera so far … Im a new mom. I want to buy a reasonable quality digital camera with good price easy to use software. I went to cnet.com and check out the reviews and evaluations of different marks, but still not sure. Any recommendations?
