Buy a digital camera. I need to buy new or referb?
I'm in a pickle here. I am looking for a new camera, because mine is a past freakin stolen. I went down to the conclusion that I'm going to get a Nikon Coolpix S series But the thing is so. Which one should I use? I can get the S220 (model budget) for $ 150 or in that area. Its new and I think you will like. or I can get as S600 or the S550 versions for $ 100. But the problem is that they are renewed. She says they are online Nikon USA refurbished. I must be safe and buy a new one? Or should I get the cheapest, but a referb. If I stay with referb a plan that I buy in this thing pack that comes with a case and such and also a year of extended warranty 2.
The acid test is the guarantee that comes with it, if its genuine Nikon should have a 1 year warranty and even then the refurb factory should be as good as new and comes with the full retail package (leads, disks, etc.). extended warranties are a rip out, be sure to not cover the camera for any damage caused by you or theft, they just extend the warranty, and like most manufacturers failures happen the first 3 months they are in a good thing. An extended warranty is not the same as holding the camera, many insurance companies will offer a cheaper deal that will cover for theft or damage at the top of the manufacturer's warranty. Chris
