Digital Cameras Metering

Can I determine the actual dimensions (in meters) of a picture I took with a digital camera?
I took a picture of a picture with my digital camera and uploaded it on my pc. Now I want to know the real dimensions of the picture, in meters, for the image. this possible?
Not without something in shooting power dimensions of scale or to know the distance between the camera and the portrait.
