Digital Cameras Gps

A digital camera can be powered by a USB power source, or is it just a USB port to transfer photos?
I'm curious a USB power source, such as come with GPS and cell phones can trigger digital cameras and other USB devices that come equipped with their supplies of own power. I know that the USB power supply provides 500 mA at 5 volts, and that would be different than the power supplied by renewable energy standard for my Sony (4.2 volts@1.5 amperes) and Canon digital cameras (7.2 volts@2.7 amps). And finally, I will blow something out if I connect a power supply for USB? Thank you.
I doubt you will explode as something that is designed to receive voltage from the PC. but if he charges is determined by the manufacturers, have you tried looking for adapters Power for the camera? If the powers of a different port, I would have to use just one. Supply of 5 volts with 3 amps for something meant to deal with, 5 Amps can do funny things. People could respond better if you told us the camera.
