Digital Cameras Fastest Shutter Speed

I'm trying to get a digital camera. Should I Care About the shutter speed or megapixals?
IM looking for the two digital camera Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 or Canon Powershot SD990-IS. Sony is faster and has a fast shutter speed and ISO, but Canon has megpixals more and a little more zoom. A Canon is also $ 40 more, but the SDHC card is cheaper than I give the memory stick. Ive tried, but I can not decide. Help! His is only one 1 megapixal diference is $ 40 worth it?
In modern megapixel compact stick. In fact having more megapixels can have an impact on their quality of image, creating more noise, this is particularly noticeable in a compact since the sensor size is almost as big as a pinhead. In the real world, you only need 6-10 megapixels. Plus most modern sensors are practically the same these days. What is important now is the camera quality of the lens, so that both chambers must have about similar quality lenses. Having a higher ISO speed increases the sensitivity of the sensor, thus reducing the duration of exposure, however, the higher speed ISO noise is much more, and is particularly visible in a small sensor. My friend has this camera and ISO completes the picture is useless. Therefore, for these cameras are very similar to: Canon has some more useful features, such as longer and give you more manual adjustments. Sony will almost certainly be built better, and is aesthetically more focused using materials such as magnesium alloys and titanium, which are also more durable. I run a Canon EOS300D, but I I recommend the Sony because its funky camera with better quality of construction, and the great difference is only seen when you step up to the range SLR Canon, where they are using CMOS sensors.
