Digital Cameras Comparisons

What is the difference in quality between film vs digital photo gallery?
It is larger than others (eg I know the cameras / lenses vary considerably between the two types of cameras)? That will tend to attract better contrast, B & W, color, depth, etc? Just curious. Thank you! PS: I'm looking for comparisons between photographs only, no comparisons between the obvious things, like the convenience of digital cameras, etc.
This is a loaded question that has been debated for years, and probably always will be. Film, especially negative film has a far more dynamic than digital sensors. In other words, the film can capture extreme contrast better than digital. So in that sense, the film is really more "aggressive" the digital. That is why there is so much excitement "in the digital world now with HDR, is just trying to get some range as always been available on film. The resolution is generally accepted that the best DSLRs are almost equal to 35mm film. However, the medium format and, especially, large-format film is another matter. Think about it, an electronic sensor may not much bigger than a postage stamp REALLY compare to a negative film as large as 8 x 10 inches. There are probably never be a digital camera that can take the place of a large format camera view when it comes to a stunning large print, detailed. Personally, I perfer my film camera Mamiya medium format for my big buck Canon 1Ds digital SLR for the final absolute quality, but there are times when only digital has many other things it is for … but this is what you do not want to discuss! Here are some pictures of medium format film, though, of course, the resolution and size the computer screen can not do them justice. Http: / / steve www.pbase.com/s_parrott/study_for_autumn&page=all
