Difference in Nikon Digital SLR?

I would like to buy a digital SLR camera Nikon. However, I do not know which will suit my needs. Everything What I want is a camera that will take the picture of high quality without me having to do anything. In other words, I'm not an avid photographer and I want a camera to do all the work for me – but I do not want to overpay for features that do not need. I currently have a Nikon N60 that I'm happy with it. However, the Sometimes when I take pictures of action (for example, someone playing sports) the camera does not always shoot as quickly as I would like. So I want a camera which is better and take action photos. I looked on the Nikon website that compares cameras located here, but it is too technical for me: http://www.nikonusa.com/fileuploads/pdfs/DLSR_comparison_chart_V2_060905.pdf

The entry-level D40 and D50 should be fine. The main differences are cheaper than the D40 has 3 AF points instead of 5, and he can only use AF-S lenses (lenses engine internal). The D50 can use all AF lenses. This last bit may be an issue so check your current lenses … classics like the AF 50mm f/1.8 has an internal motor. Manual focusing is still possible, but I did not recommend. The D40 and D50 have very small display and lack of a split prism focusing screen. Note also that all Nikon DSLR cameras expand their lenses 1.5 times. Thus, a 50mm lens will be shown to 75 millimeters, etc. This is great for your existing telephoto lenses, but it plays havoc with your lenses and wide angle standard zoom. You can get the 18-55mm kit to compensate – the effective range is 27-83mm. With the D70 and above, you will probably buy more camera than you need. That is, unless you need an incredibly fast AF system and more frames per second. If the D40 / D50 not meet their needs in this department, the D200 with a 70-200mm f/2.8 should do the trick – but the package is 4 times more expensive.
