Charging Digital Cameras Overseas

Why are not my Energizer rechargeable batteries charged?
They are not mine, but they are a friend of mine who lives abroad not have internet access. Her boyfriend sent her a digital camera on August 24, and did not arrive until September 28. Before sending the camera, it loads the batteries (AAA), all the way. He did not know it would take a long time to fine the camera to get. Camera and the batteries were working for the last two weeks. In However, when it was to recharge today's batteries would not charge. The green light (which indicates that the batteries are charging) flashes for a second and then exits. Any idea of which is the problem? Thank you!
No $ hit will not charge the camera … it has a charger.
It seems to me that the batteries are not rechargeable. There is a brand "rechargeable" the cells? If they are rechargeable, which should be working as they are working for the last two weeks. There must be something wrong with the charger or the batteries were placed in the charger incorrectly. Check the polarity of the batteries. (+) Next to the battery terminal (+) charger.
