How do I upload pictures from my camera Canon Digital Rebel?
Hi, I have an older model of Canon Digital Rebel and need to upload photos to my laptop. I do not have any of the disks that came with the camera. Not sure if it matters, but I'm currently using XP on my computer. Help! Thank you!
The camera should have come with a USB cable. When you connect the camera and plug it in, XP should look for drivers. The CDs are unnecessary, because if you require that the drivers you can download them directly from the Canon Web site. Once the camera is recognized and drivers installed, simply click the right Start Windows, navigate to My Computer> Canon Camera (or whatever the name of your memory card in Explorer) and open that folder. Then select images on the card and drag them to any folder on your C: drive. When you are sure SURE if the images are actually in the computer's hard drive, re-select the images on the card and delete them so it is clean for the next shot. There are several ways to get images off the computer, it's really a matter of preference. You can also buy a flash card reader for $ 30 and plug into a USB port on your computer instead.
