Canon Camcorders Deals

As an amateur photographer, I already owned an SLR Panasonic has done wonders for me for a couple of years. I decided, however, it was high time I kept up with technology and entered the digital age. My first gadget was a point-and-shoot camera, and I was very frustrated with the lack of flexibility if available and poor quality. Do not get me wrong, it was alright for the scenes to make the barbecue and in the office, but I needed something more.
I wanted to get a digital SLR, but I could not even close to buying one, the price was too high. Also, I wanted something more portable, preferably a device that would fit in my pocket. I do not want to carry in a bag. Nevertheless, I needed one that would give me decent control on the opening and concentration. After reading many reviews, I decided to try the Canon PowerShot G10. I bought it less than a month earlier and has already taken nearly 10,000 photographs. Here's what I think about it until now.
– All modes of self great work, but you can replace most of the settings manually and get even better results.
– With an ISO 400 setting there is considerable noise, but nowhere near what I received on my old SLR film. I managed to considerably reduce Photoshop and got some pictures surprisingly good inside.
– Face recognition works transparently without any additional parameters. The portraits auto natural look without too much risk. Red eye reduction is also decent, I just had to do any post-processing tweaks to eliminate the demon-looking eyes.
– High-scene settings meet the needs of any amateur photographer. The list is fairly comprehensive and includes the night, sunset, underwater and snow modes. The effects have worked as though I had used Photoshop to the raw image, which saved me much time.
– The major drawback is that RAW files created by this camera can not be opened by Photoshop CS3. A solution I've found was to convert to TIFF, which eats a lot of disk space (about 100 megabytes for each image). Fortunately, I have two hard drives of 500 gigabytes, as free space is not a problem for me. I contacted Adobe about this issue and they hope to add support for G10 in the near future.
To wrap, Canon PowerShot is a great camera, so far it has worked for my purposes. I recommend it to anyone who needs more control than a regular point-and-shoot can offer, but is not yet ready to take a digital SLR.
Getting the perfect Canon camera, is never an easy thing, especially with the way digital technology is constantly changing. Fortunately, there are plenty of helpful websites online, that can narrow down your search and help you find the camera with all the features important to you.
