What camcorder should I buy?

HI, I recently was watching the HD camcorders that record a disc drive. Up Now I watched the HG21, Canon and really like it and its features. What other cameras should I consider before buying? I wish I had a camcorder accessory shoe (hot or cold), a 1/8th in microphone, and at least 12x optical zoom. Thank you for your help. Sammy D
