Camera Lenses for Sports Photography

camera lenses for sports photography
Photographers shopping for a new digital camera are bombarded with information about the power of modern zoom lens. "This camera has eight times optical zoom up to twelve times digital zoom but this camera has twelve times optical and … "You know what to do.

A powerful telephoto lens is fantastic, and essential if you're shooting lots of sports photography, wildlife photography, or any other photo you need to capture the subject distance. But with all the marketing that goes around the telephoto power, you could be forgiven for believing there is little value in a good wide angle lens.

This simply not the case. In fact, if you get a lot of travel photos, you may find that its powerful telephoto rarely Gets a workout. As a photographer landscape, I use my wide-angle lens more. I can tell you now that, although the wide-angle lens makes it smaller, you can create images with great impact, if you use it well.

So here are my five tips for creative photography, with a wide-angle lens.

Wide Angle Photography Tip # 1. It Really Is A Wide Angle. By using a larger lens, you narrow your field of vision considerably, so if you focus on one subject in the foreground, you really not capture most of the fund. On the other hand, with a wide angle lens that captures a very wide field of vision. Your foreground subject can still be the focus of the image, but you can use the fund to add interest to the image as well.

As a result, the image can tell more than one story. Instead of a photo which says: "Here is a picture of my children", his picture can say, "Here is a picture of my kids on the beach, you can see what a beautiful day and was able to capture a boat doing well. "

Wide Angle Photography Tip # 2. Depth of field. The wide-angle lens has a depth of field much more stronger than a larger lens. Not only can you make a feature of both foreground and background, you can keep everything in focus while you're at it. To achieve the same result with a big lens, you may have to close the gap, which means decreasing the shutter speed, which means using a tripod … great effort exta. After all, the depth of field may still not be as strong as if you had used your wide-angle lens.

Wide Angle Photography Tip # 3. Perspective. Perspective is exaggerated by a wide-angle lens, so long ago seem even more objects. If you are shooting a fence-line, a pier, trails train, one way … anything that extends the distance, the wide-angle lens can really give a boost to your photo. The result is a true three-dimensional feel depth. The strong lines of the composition will take the viewer into the image, so they feel they are not just looking at the picture, but right for her.

Wide Angle Photography Tip # 4. Foregrounds Almighty. The exaggerated perspective of the wide-angle lens makes objects at different distances seem much farther apart than they really are. Objects of knowledge may seem a little smaller, but the objects in the background may seem many miles farther. As a result, the wide-angle lens is great for adding impact on a matter of focus. You may be very close to a person (or a tree, whatever) and they will appear to tower over the scene from a distance. This is the opposite of a telephoto lens, which tends to bring the background in focus.

Wide Angle Photography Tip # 5. Putting it all together. All the above tips are useful for you same, but to put them all together you have the power to create photos that really grab the eye of the beholder. Not enough space in a short article to describe all the ways you can use these tips, so I'll give you an example that puts all the strengths of a wide angle lens to good use.

Imagine an old farm house, with an impressive cloud formation behind him. Your telephoto lens could fit in one fifth, and a standard lens could fit at home and in the sky.

With a wide angle lens, you can walk down the sidewalk and look for some special detail (perhaps a box of rusty old) to create a more interesting composition. If you get near the box, you have highlighted in the composition, but you still have a clear chance of the farm and the sky bottom. Even better, the strong depth of field makes it easy to keep everything in focus. The exaggerated perspective will make the pavement seem longer, adding an impact three dimensions for the image. If you do good, the first thing that draws attention is the mailbox, but the path will lead the viewer into the distance, to enjoy all the background details as well.

So you have a quick introduction to the creative use of a wide-angle lens. I hope that this small Article not limited to spark your imagination. Reading about it is not nearly as exciting as doing it … So grab your camera and start snapping Photos
