Camera Lenses Explained Nikon

What to do with this camera Nikon D60?!?
Hello everyone. Let me explain the story before I ask the question. I did a photography course at the last semester at school and I met a guy who works at a local camera store. He told me he could get me the VR Nikon D60 with 2 lenses for 600 buck. (he was using the employee discount) So I was super excited. I filled out the paperwork and faxed it in, and he received a call from the Nikon representative saying that since my name was the credit card and not your name, they could not process the request. The only way we could do this is if I give you $ 600 in cash. I not really know him that well so I'm really hesitant to give you that kind of money. What can I do so I know he will not take my money and run? I really want the camera and I do not feel like spending $ 900 on a retail store, when I knew I could get it for 600. If I make the sign of some kind of contract what he should say? Ugh this is crazy annoying. Please help!
Here is a good link that will tell you a bunch. Http: / / www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d60.htm The scenario sounds like it could be a hoax … him by the camera and then deliver the money … If you can not do that, then you may just have to go. Since lenses are the most important investment, you could go ahead and a D40 with kit lens pair and be done with it. Then, in about four years or more, upgrade the camera body … you still have great lenses. While saving $ 300 is tempting, you do not want to risk your money too.
