Does it matter what I buy lens cap to my camera?

I have a Canon Rebel 2000 film camera, the lens had a 55mm ebay diameter.On, I buy any cap 55 or it has to be a canon. Vendors are specific cap for Nikon "….. .. "Thank you!

Any diameter 55 mm will fit. There are two basic types, clip or screw. Firefox Screw … screw as a filter. Clip-ons you press the center and bite wires filter. Clips are more common and easier to use. But my complaint is with them can be difficult to get right, they can go awry, and we fall. Firefox for the screw can take a while to come and go and it's easier to leave them in the mud.
