Camcorders High Definition
Is the HDR-SR12 120GB High Definition Handycam ® a good video camera?
I think to get this camcorder. I just ride your opinion on this point. Is this a good investment or is there something out there for that price thats better?? The price is around 1000
If you are OK with the fact that hard disk drive (HDD) camcorders are known issues with the vibrations caused by sound high and not be able to record the video … and when at high altitude (over 9800 feet) and not being able to record video … and challenges that may hang when the disk hard to obtain data on the hard drive … and additional steps you must take to store or save the video before you start editing … and the highly compressed AVCHD video format that can not be handled by many video editors, unless you have the most current version and really fast new CPU for your computer (and filmmaker can not work with AVCHD video at all – whatever the version) … So I suppose it's OK … But the best investment is to bypass the hard drive and either stay with the known DV / HDV MiniDV cassette or switch to flash memory. If you need have Sony HDR-HC9 or HDR-CX12. Otherwise, the Canon HV30 or the HS Series.
