Are Panasonic Camcorders Mac Compatible

I want to buy a camcorder that is compatible with mac?
I just had my son and want to save a lot of stuff, but I will not a camera. I am researching what is the best bang for the buck and make sure it is compatible with Mac. someone told me JVC said it wasn't. and the guns was the best, but its expensive. Sonny and Panasonic are in my price range under 500. I want one with a hard drive.
Approximately All camcorders are compatible with all computers – but some need different tools – hardware and software … Since you do not tell us Mac … based on the MiniDV camcorders continue to provide the best quality video available – because DV (and HDV) use much less compression when writing the digital video stream to digital tape. Connecting an Apple Macintosh computer and tape-based miniDV camcorder needs a 4 pin to 6 pin FireWire cable to connect the camcorder to the DV port to the Mac's Firewire port 400. Every Mac is almost the last ten years have a standard FireWire 400 port. iMovie and iMovie HD will import the video. The exceptio not only the rule FireWire for Mac is a MacBook Memory Camcorders air – no FireWire port … Hard disk drive (HDD) and flash using the same compression methods – much more than miniDV – to drive and flash video quality is not as good as miniDV. Do not get me wrong camcorders, not bad (basic DVD IS bad), but just a little worse. For the most part, if your Mac is new, you connect the camcorder and computer with USB, copy the files from the camcorder to computer and convert video files – iMovie can then use the file. You may need to download and install Streamclip to convert – It is available apple.com 's downloads area. I do not recommend HDD camcorders for three reasons: 1) They can not handle the vibrations. This may a great audio from tape, noise or a big ring (engine or jet engine, racing cars). The heads of hard disk park and will not record in an effort to protect the plates. 2) They do not do well at high altitudes (more than anything on (700 feet). Since I do not know where you live or you want to ski (video in the mountains), I do not know if this matters. 3) When you drop / pause the camera, how you get the video off the hard drive? With miniDV tape or flash memory, you can usually take the media and use another camera … with a camcorder hard drive, you will need to work with a recovery service like DriveSavers Data … open your wallet … The Canon FS10 and FS100. They have a mic jack … so the Canon ZR900 and ZR930. And I have no particular affinity for Canon, I use a Sony HDR-HC1 and HDR-FX1. But for the "best bang for the buck", flash camcorders Canon are probably … in your price range indicated.
