Are Camera Lenses Universal
lens that will fit my camera?
I found an old film camera cannon in my basement, my parents old camera and I'm just starting the photo and I wanted to play around with it, it has a lens that is probably the one photo. I wonder what other type of lens will fit into it. I am looking to buy one off ebay. His T50 a gun if that helps, let me know if you need more information. Camera lens are universal? (Like any lens will fit any camera?)
You call this an old camera? ha ha ha …. It has been around so long. As automakers … Model T replaced a model. They were made from 1983 until the end of 1989 so it can not be more than 25 years. Replace the batteries and it should work fine if it was not damaged or stored improperly. The previous answers are absolutely correct about what lens you need to buy. Any Canon FD lens with the barrel will work just fine. You can also buy a third party lens like Sigma, Tokina, Tamron Vivitar would probably work well, provided you have older Canon FD mount on it. I checked only on e-bay and was surprised to see that there was a lot of these lenses to choose from, but still managed to find 5 or 6, such as 50mm, zoom and wide angle lenses Canon FD there selling very cheap. Some of the lenses was not even one bidder and they are about to close within 1 day. I suggest you go there now and make a offer. You can also find them cheap at pawn shops or dealers of the camera. I'm not even sure what Canon continues to do them. This machine would be an excellent camera for beginners to anyone. It also has auto-exposure modes, but NOT autofocus. Have Fun
