Design: With two body designs the Canon Rebel XS is available in black and black to silver. Each comes with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens and weighs about 1 pound and a little more. Features: 10.1 MP Canon Rebel XS is strong enough for its class. Its feature-set includes APS-C-size CMOS sensor with a 1.6x focal length multiplier and a 7-point autofocus. The DSLR also switches SDHC to CompactFlash speed operation more reliable and has an automatic lighting optimizer contrast to capture position and brightness adjustment. The Digital SLR also offers a speed flash sync of 1/200th of a second with a shutter speed of 30 seconds to 1/4000th of a second. Other features include a system-TTL (35 areas) and a grip BG-E5 battery.
Features & Performance: Well my menu allows some customizing menus, the interface is generally quite basic. With ISO sensitivity up to 1600, the camera is entry level. However, in the shooting of the camera speed is very fast with a start-up-to-shot time of less than 0.2 seconds and a lag of 0.4 seconds of shooting in good conditions. In low light conditions there a bit to 0.8 seconds, but shot-to-shot time it buys to 0.7 seconds for first pictures and 0.4 seconds for JPEG shots. With flash-recycling rate increases to 0.8 seconds while the burst mode to 85, surpassing almost all digital SLR cameras in its class.
Picture quality is top notch, typical of Canon cameras with the Canon Rebel XS offer beautiful colors and accurate exposures even on high ISO. Overall, the Canon Rebel XS offers impressive image quality with faster performance in low light focus that any of its other competitors in the same class, making it ideal for most digital SLR beginners.
